god.
I like the way the platforming industry is going with Mario, Banjo KAzooie and Littlebigplanet...
But Shooters?
nah
EDIT: People complain about how Masterchief can be shot in the head a lot... Look @ THIS GUY.

The Conduit doesn't look or play like Resistance or Halo at all, at least not to me. Even if that was the case, what would be so wrong with that. Combining two successful games and putting them into one, I'd buy that.
It's an original shooter in certain aspects but like I said before it doesn't look or play like Halo and Resistance.

To be perfectly honest. I was Having that argument with myself before I commented.
So Yes. It will be good.
But even so... It's the same old formula...over and over and over again.
But it works and thats all that really matters.

I've already stated it won't be a revolutionary title like Halo 1 was (that set a new standard for last-gen FPS), it'll just be a GOOD Wii shooter. We should've been getting games like this by the SHITLOAD at launch, and then get way better shooters, but oh well.

What did Halo put in new to FPS's than? I didnt find anything revolutionary when I played it. But thats just me.
I also think The Conduit will be a good game for the Wii. But thats just by looking at it. They added a camera tilt when you run, nice graphics, online multiplayer with maybe even WeSpeak. So thats all good to me.

It wasn't really halo. It was a coaperative effort that started with Golden Eye and then Perfect Dark perfected it and then Halo made it mint... essentially
But Yeah it Looks fun it just kind annoying that no one is trying something new...
But whatever I know one of my friends will buy it and thats when I'll put the stamp of good/bad on it.

I always thought that Halo was revolutionary because they made a great Sci Fi FPS, with an intriguing story, and didn't make it cheesy.

as others said, i see no similarities between this and halo or resistance. maybe the "alien invasion story" line. find me a sci-fi shooter (other than bioshock or MP3 ) which brings somehthing new to the fps table
and to be honest, i always find the terms like "halo killer" to be misleading. i mean, to be able to "kill" halo. woudnt you need to make a game on the xbox and 360?

Exactly what I was going to say. The whole "real-time" storyline made the first game a big deal and enhanced the realism (as real as a 1998 sci-fi shooter can get ). Still very fun to play through sometimes.
Halo was a big deal because it brought that type of gameplay to a next-gen console (other than half-life on ps2)

Perfect Dark is the greatest FPS in history in my opinion. I would love to see a remake on Wii2, but probably won't happen.

Gotta respond to CantGetAWii really quick:
My two cents are bolded. :P

You're expecting a game better than Mario 64? There hasn't been any platformers that have succeeded past Mario 64.
That's pretty demanding don't you think?
Edit: There's a whole 'nother thread focusing on this topic.

I know, I was just stating that Mario 64's platforming was so much funner.. Mario Galaxy doesn't really have platforming, it just has LUL GRAVITY TRIX. Ok, cool, I can jump to that little spinning thing upside down and not fall no matter what I do. WAIT, THAT'S NOT A CHALLENGE!

It's true, the game does seem to be borrowing from many of the greatest FPS's...
Halo (health, weapons, holding 2 guns)
Half-life (cutscenes, presentation)
Resistance (weapons like the one that shoots around corners)
Metroid (enemies, control-scheme)
Deus Ex (conspiracy, hacking with all-seeing eye)
Bioshock (the hands)
But this is a good thing. Too many sci-fi shooters? Not enough I say!

It could very well end up being revolutionary on Wii. Halo brought FPS's to a new level on Xbox and to a next gen console. Wii is getting a shooter that could pave the way for other shooters on the console and is the first FPS on Wii to offer great online modes.

It'll be revolutionary because it's a working shooter on the wii with good online modes, yes, that'll be very revolutionary. It won't revolutionize the genre, though.
CoD5 looks like it's getting some good support, but we all know how much effort those type of companies put into Wii editions of multi-platform games. :P

This game looks great. I know it`s nothing new to 360/PS3 owners but it is great. Only thing that dissapoints me is I heard theres no splitscreen multi. Someone needs to eventually make good splitscreen, so why not this game?

ha ha, this will have the control 100 times bettert that of dual analogue fps. even sony and microsoft cant deny that. for example, in the re4 wii, 40% of ammo was removed from the gamecube and ps2 version because you can aim better with wii version
