Some people have friends, and when you have friends, you like to play video games with them. It's way more fun to know you're playing your friend than strangers.

And don't give me the friend list crap, because it's wayyy better with them sitting in the same room as you. Wii Speak is really unnecessary too, why not just make a headset.

But nooo, Nintendo has to be family friendly and have kids' parents listening to everything they say.

yeah i agree with u! ^ i want splitscreen cuz its funto have a friend over and like stay up all night pwning people on a team together sitting side by side so u can talk and stuff its way more fun than by yourself, plus not all my friends have wiis to play it with. and for the wii speak, it makes me want to kill nintendo, headset would have been way better...

well for you so called splitscreen lovers, i wouold have thought that wiispeak would >headset because it allows more than one person to communicate while playing games like mariokartwii

either way, lack of splitscreen doesnt bother me.

Really? not at all? playing shooters online splitscreen makes them much better IMO, if its unfeasible then fair enough, but its stupid if the only reason they aren't including it is because they want to keep it looking nice, everyone is used to graphics taking a hit when you play split screen

Always is. But again, people are whining. Tons of modern shooters have great online components and no split-screen, yes it's annoying but it doesn't automatically make the game garbage.

However it's a fairly stupid decision. It's very easy to have split-screen, just make the particles and lighting effects simpler (like in COD4) to improve FPS and you can enable split-screen. It won't be as pretty but it's better than not having the option.

The best modern shooters have split screen. Halo 3 is the amazing game it is because it's the most customizable 3D (so you can't say blastworks) shooter ever. CoD4 is much better because of split screen (even if the split screen isn't as good as the online).

A wireless nun-chuck came out on like, the first week the wii was released. It isn't hard to make things wireless.

Split screen is a nice option to have, and it's fairly stupid not to have it, but a game can be complete without it. They should really just simplify the particles and shader effects for split-screen, but oh well.

It sucked primarily because of ridiculous load times between map loads, menus, and even choosing vehicles. Bugs, crappy physics, an online component that you had to fix up the ports on your PS3 for and has been pretty much dead since like a month after the PS3 came out, and finally the gameplay was immensely repetitive and watching a vehicle go from mint condition to a black pile of steel in ONE frame in a violent flash of flames is only funny the first time you see it. Oh yeah, and most of the soundtrack sucked.

No split screen (on a RACING GAME, THAT'S FREAKING RIDICULOUS) just put the dead baby on the pile of poop.

So why not have split screen? Let's compare the requirements to play with your friend who lives next door for split screen and online shall we?

I'd really like split-screen, to be honest.

My roomie and I like the whole co-op/versus thing on one screen as...that's the only possibility for us.

I mean, I understand their predicament and all, but I can still be disappointed with it.

And...as much as I'm glad for communicative possibility now, not only can I no longer have a teammate in a different room against our opponent who sits next to me (Yeah, we sometimes did that...), ................but NOW if I have to talk to someone, their words'll be muffled by their mother in the background shouting at their little brother...whom is also shouting.

WiiSpeak is cool'n all, for a select group of people. But for a system that's meant for everybody, a headset would be nice, too.

I wouldn't be so sure, wiispeak has that big box transformer like thing halfway down the wire that must hold some sort of computer stuff, hopefully its just to cut out the noise from the tv, but if were unlucky it may have some sort of validation software so you can only use wiispeak

when i have mates over, the last thing i do is play video games. and if we do its generally car racing games, and then its not split screen, its generally time trials.

split screen isnt the be all and end all

uh not a fanboyish comment at all but a logical one.

they said they wnated split screen very badly. so wouldnt wiispeak be better for them than a hedset because more than 1 person can communicate while playing games with split screen? (for example brawl, mkwii)
