I have to say that with the new videos, The Conduit is starting to look pretty damn impressive. It really looks like they've got the controls down for sure. The enemy models are looks quite fantastic as well and the animations are quite good. The weapons looks pretty cool as well; it's nice to see at least a few rather refreshing weapons in a genre diluted with cliche weapons. Though, I'm not terribly keen on the HUD quite yet.
Still there are several areas that will need significant improvement if this game is to be a great game:
1. Better enemy AI - Most of the time the enemies didn't look terribly intelligent. Rarely, if ever, did they take cover or engage in any other tactical behaviors. Worse, at other times they were downright stupid, by getting stuck and running against objects and such (e.g., when the enemy got stuck in the hole and ran in place).
2. Better sound effects - The sound effects are pretty pitiful. The guns completely lack oomph. The enemies don't appear to have really any sound effects at all. And, worst of all, they have seem to have recycled sound effects from other games as old as the original Doom (seriously, I heard some sound bytes from the original Doom).
3. Better environment textures - The buildings, ground, and other objects in the environment still have a rather plain, boring style with rather poor textures.
Fix these up, add in some great online multiplayer, and we likely have a winner on our hands.

I just want to say this right now:
As much as I've been disappointed with Nintendo over the past couple days due to subpar game and hardware showings at E3, due to The Conduit alone, I'll likely be picking up a Wii when I get my bonus check at work next week.
Yes, due to ONE GAME, I'll probably be buying my Wii back.
High Voltage, I love you.

1.) They've said repeatedly that the playable version they're demoing is software-set to "Easy," which is why the enemies are easy as hell and incredibly stupid. Pay attention.
2.) The sound clearly is through a microphone or some other device which isn't hard-wired to the recording device, hence it sounding like garbage.
3.) Can't disagree there.

Mark my words right now. Killzone 2 is so overhyped that The Conduit if it delivers will kill KZ2. Gameplay over Graphics and nothing feels as comfortable as the Wiimote and Nunchuk for FPS. This is the Third Party the Wii has needed for a long time and I am so glad that they have more pride in that one game than any other devs do theirs. Start flaming me....now!

I've always thought Killzone games were super boring.

Looks ok didn't really grab my attention in a genre which is becoming stale. I'm going to wait until this gets a review after all this could end up like Geist did a absolute pile of overhyped shit.

Set to "easy" shouldn't mean they're stupid and run into objects. Generally, it should mean that they're easier to take down (less health), you get more ammo, etc. Not that the AI is dumber. Besides, it is so much more difficult to code different gradations of AI intelligence. They need to focus on making the AI intelligent.
As far as the sound effects, they were just as bad in the other videos, which were directly recorded.

Um even set to easy the AI was relatively smart, because in one scene you can see the Alien's running away because they are being overpowered.
And they've nailed the online multiplayer already in my mind as they announced 16 players and the add-on Wiispeak. They still are to have 2 more online modes for sure so its looking good.

I think the textures looked better than the pre-E3 vids. The controls are looking good. The customization of the controls looks crazy.
My only real complaint so far is that there is no local multiplayer. I really wish they would add that to the game.

That was my biggest problem, the sound effects sound like static and they're just horrible. There better be some bang when I fire a gun or hear an explosion, not fuzziness. And every other game sounded totally fine when IGN played it, so it's not about speakers.
This game will be rape if it uses Wiispeak. This and COD5 will rid the Wii of its drought in shooters-which is what it's practically meant for.

Oh yeah your right. LAN. Now we'll all just have to go out and buy another Wii and a second copy of the game, so that we can play together with friends. That'll work out fine.
...
LAN does not make up for a lack of splitscreen multi-player. Honestly, LAN on a videogame console doesnt make any sense, unless your friend feels like bringing his/her own Wii over to your house.
LAN only really works with PC games.

Indeed. No split-screen always sucks.

I think as far as sound effects go, that's one of the last things on High Voltage's mind. They're going to get the main stuff down first, and save petty gun effects for the polishing up process. Same with offline multi-player, which is relatively easy to include in a game.

Dunno bout "Revolutionary" in terms of FPS but certainly on the Wii it looks likely that this game could set a benchmark for future FPS on the console.
Altough looking at Call of Duty 5: World at War I would say that's going to run the Conduit close in terms of Graphics and gameplay, as Activision confirmed online multiplayer and all the features included in the PS3 and 360 versions...So good times ahead for FPS on Wii hopefully...
