No. It'll be second party. First party is developed by Nintendo.

And there is no point to this game it's just there wasn't designed to go 'hey, third parties can do this'

And HVS said they wouldn't let publishers tinkle with the game that's why they don't want a publisher til like 80% complete.

even if it published by ninty, it will still be 3rd party because nintendo didnt help them develope it.

Yeah but it'll cause some confusion with those who weren't following the game. And in this hypothetical situation, how long was Ninty helping them before they were revealed to be the publisher? In general people will just assume Nintendo helped them out a lot.

From the very beginning that's been stated as a major reason for the development of this game. In almost every interview High Voltage has stated something to the effect of "We have no freaking idea why other third parties haven't done this, and we want to prove it's possible."

Everyone (video game players) is aware of what the guys @ HVS are doing with this game and intend to do with it. Nintendo publishing this takes nothing away from them or the game. Nintendo has been working closely with them since the game first started making rounds, Nintendo knew they needed this game and they were talking about various things (online etc.)

It would make sense if Nintendo did end up publishing this game and I think that would be a good thing. The Conduit was designed to show off the Wii's controls and power where other developers have failed.

Not every video gamer is aware of the conduit. Only the ones that go on the internet and read news.

no casual gamer will give a rats ass like some people do. the publisher is irrelevant. what is relevant is the quality of the game itself.

thats not completely true, thats just your opinion, i feel as though it is completely relevant, it may determine the form of internet connection and multiple other things, but i do agree that gameplay is first and foremost.

The general public usually finds out after they see a commercial on TV. I can assure you most of your "Wii friends" don't know about The Conduit. Heck, one of my friends who reads Nintendo Power every month just found out about it.

Commercials, that's another problem. Nintendo is VERY bad at commercials. When RE4 was a Gamecube exclusive the commercial for it was horrible, they didn't even make an effort to make it look cool/fun and yet it is one of the greatest games in video game history(my 3rd favorite of all time).

The Conduit - HVS looking to incorporate online system similar to Medal of Honor on Wii

Quote:
High Voltage Software stated a few weeks back that friend codes will be a probable inclusion in The Conduit’s online set up. After all, as the company has mentioned, it is ultimately up to Nintendo to decide which companies can develop and include a homemade online system, much like EA did with Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 on Wii. There is some light at the end of the tunnel, however. High Voltage Software has yet again noted that “If there is any possible way for us to get around this [friend code] system, we will.” Better yet, it was also added that “A system similar to MoH2’s would be ideal.” High Voltage is hoping that Nintendo will offer “the same exceptions they granted EA.” Gamers might end up with friend codes in the final product, but at least it can be said that High Voltage is doing everything in their power to make the online experience as good as it can possibly be.

Minus the lag, I hope. Otherwise that's awesome. Unlike other third parties they used common sense and copied EA.

yeah EA has a great online sevice, like tiger woods 09 doesnt lag at all and its so fast to connect... granted it would be a little slower since there will be 16 players at a time, but still they have it good.
