See I'm not the only one. I know it's about the gameplay but if I'm playing this game seriously I don't want my friends coming over and peeing in there pants laughing at this wii game with next gen graphics.

well i would just like people to take the wii a bit more seriously. they might have one of the best third party graphics engines to date, but I don't know why the textures look so colorful yet so bland. was that the best they could do without slowing down the game?

This might help explain the different sizes of the health bar in the screenshots (taken from an article here http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=54026):

The power suit allows him to jump higher, hit harder, and absorb more damage then most humans. Furthermore, it comes equipped with a personal shield system that further augments his defense. The shield is represented as a bar on the upper left of your screen. Every time you take damage, the bar lowers, and if you avoid damage for a while, it recharges. However, if your shield bar lowers beyond a certain point, you'll be unable to recharge it to full, and may be left with 2/3rds or even 1/3rd of a complete shield bar until you find a TRUST recovery pack.

Well for one thing the guns and enemies looks stunning, there's no denying that. It's all the other things that don't look so hot right now, aside from maybe the water and the all-seeing-eye, those look good. The buildings etc. are rough though but the game still is months away, March is the tentative release month.

Some of the new screens look good, much better than previous ones. Enough with the N64 visual stuff, this is N64:

O wow before you told me that was a 64 version I seriously that it was a screen shot of Conduit.

No excuse though I mean it should look better than that. O well I guess if we get a publisher then we will get more staff to work on the game graphics. Maybe.

Yep that looks darn close....

Look at the rail in 64 and then the blue column in Conduit. They look very similar. Yuck.

sorry CantGetAWii, but he took the words right out of my mouth!!!
anyway, I didn't say the graphics look bad or anything, i just meant they had the bland 64 feel back when n64 was out, a lot of stuff looked better than psx etc, just was a lot less detailed in the texture dept(IIRC). i dunno how to say it. doesn't look bad tho.

But yeah, it needs anti-aliasing desperately, and a lot of the textures need clean-up. Right now it's like, a mix of Wii and N64 graphics. "Wow, those bloom and water effects are amazing. Too bad the water fountain looks like something you'd see in the first silent hill."

Worst case scenario: They can just do what mario galaxy did. By that I mean, make low-resolution textures look gorgeous using specular and bump-mapping effects. Sometimes lighting matters more than texture work, but when it looks like super blocky PS2 you can't ignore it.

We all have to remember that games look better in motion though, ESPECIALLY Wii games. Screen shots of mario galaxy make it look jaggy and crappy, but we all know how amazing it looks. The videos of the conduit are quite pretty, but the really crappy sound effects kill them for me.

If you honestly think those two look the same, I suggest you get your eyes checked. The conduit is using a very unique method of design, things are vivid, but with out the without the huge lighting which is not needed and it does all that with out just using the shades of brown that Vash is always complaining about. I personally think that HVS is doing a very good job.

If the graphics are that good still, they won't be amazingly better. Now that I see a comparison, they do look not so surprisingly similar.
