Hopefully Nintendo isn't the publisher. Hopefully this is the first stepping block in more 3rd party devs coming to Wii, there's still so much untapped potential.

From Kotaku:
Quote:
High Voltage chief operating officer Eric Nofsinger told MTV Multiplayer that The Conduit, due out March 2009, will support MotionPlus and WiiSpeak, and alludes to an already-planned sequel that will make greater use of those capabilities.
“We’re hooking it [MotionPlus] up,” Nofsinger told Multiplayer. “We want to support it. Probably for this version of the game there’s not going to be a whole ton of really extensive use of the Wii MotionPlus. For the sequel to the game, we definitely do want to incorporate more melee and things like that. We want to support it.”
Earlier this month, reports said High Voltage would push to start work on a sequel once they got a publisher for the first, and that an announcement of the publisher should be coming soon.

1. Offline/ONLINE splitscreen
2. Vehicles
3. while we know wii motion plus will be in there, some sort of sword/laser sword!!! yeah you know you want it!!!

I totally agree with 1 and 2, and yes I would love to see 3 as well, however I have this nagging problem about swordplay in FPS. With the aiming and turning the way it is by moving the pointer while holding a gun, what happens when you switch to a sword. Given that sword control will be motion plus enabled, a lot of your swinging and parrying will be performed with the pointer aimed nowhere near the screen, so do you sacrifice strafing on the nunchuk analog stick to allow turning without pointing at the screen? Or do you have a target lock that keeps you facing the enemy you are fighting so strafing is left alone and turning is automatic? What happens to looking up and down as well (although admittedly in close melee combat there isn't really that much of a need for this)? The other setting on the conduit is when the pointer is off screen, you can choose between continuing turning or slowing down and re-centering, I would have to assume this setting will be disabled when a sword is in hand.
I never played Red Steel, so I don't know how they handled sword control in that. Sports Resort obviously has no player character control, just swinging the sword around.
I just havn't been able to rationalize how full motion character control is going to work with full motion sword control at the same time. The only thing I can think of right now is to use a button to toggle analog stick control between moving/strafing and looking/turning.

If you don't feel like reading it, don't. However, we don't need to know about your lack of reading ability...
If you are in an official Conduit thread, then it's kind of to be expected that there might just be some news on the Conduit contained within.
What's up, couldn't find anything to pick fault with?

I'm very happy with the direction they are taking with motionplus, there not making it vital to the gameplay, but when/if you get one plug it in and the controls should feel more responsive, hopefully other developers follow thier lead, and make their games 'future proof' by having at least basic motionplus functionailty.
