i have honestly no idea why they are implementing motionplus

yeah i know that most of the work is done by the IR pointer and analogue stick, but there are still gestures, which use the accelerometers, and will be recognised more accurately with motion plus

Really nice info again, Vash!
What struck me as important:
Quote:
I think a lot of folks are waiting to see how we do, to see if it is a viable system for hardcore gamers. I believe, and I think many people believe — our entire company believes that the Wii is a viable system for core gamers. We’re going out swinging hard, and we’re going to give this our all, and if it doesn’t work, we can’t say it’s for lack of trying. I’d rather go out there and fail then give it a half-hearted effort — which I think a lot of folks still are.
I think a lot of folks still are dipping their toe in the water, and they’re doing some things that are interesting, but they’re not really taking it to the next level. We want the Wii to be the gaming console, and I think that’s not just pretty graphics; it’s great gameplay and pretty graphics, and great audio, and great storytelling, and a great multiplayer experience… we’re trying to pull all that together, and it’s a lot of work.
But I think that if it can be done, we’re going to do our best to make sure it happens. Our reputation is riding on this.

If this is true, and other 3rd party developers are watching to see how the Conduit is accepted by what is usually considered a 'casual' gaming crowd, then whether The Conduit succeeds or not is of vital importance to the Wii.
Of course it needs to be a brilliant game for us to want it, but if it is, then it HAS to sell well (and hopefully phenomonally) so that other devs will sit up and take notice, and also help the Wii to be taken as a 'serious' games console.
It's exciting, especially as how all things point to it been brilliant, and it's not even finished yet...

yes as i see it right now, nothing is a turn off... nothing! i haven't seen anything that makes me kinda iffy. The graphics are great, the gameplay looks great, the effort put into it is amazing, the customizability is phenomenal. really nothing is bad (for wii standards)

there's only ONE thing that i didnt like about that demo. there was an alarm going off with a voice giving a warning. i forgot what it was saying, i only saw the video the day vash linked us. but anyway, as soon as he walks out of the room, i mean the instant, the alarm and voice turn completely off. i hope they fix that. it should fade out. and oh yeah, i'm not relaly enjoying the human gun shot sounds either. way to fake. but i'm sure it'll be fun to play.

I think this game will see great sales even if it completely bombs. People will pick this up because it's a wii game made by third-part developers that isn't just shovelware. Even if the story, voice acting, engine, etc. are terrible (which I don't think they will be) the game will still sell because it's what wii gamers have been asking for and with any luck other devs will look at those sales and see a great reason to work hard on a game for wii also.

gamepro video interview
looks good as always.
for some reason, even though i have seen that level (cold war bunker) in ign videos, while i was watching it in the background in this video, i was suddenely reminded of perfect dark's first level where she goes into the facility to rescue that scientist.

I thought I read somewhere that alot of the music, sound and voice acting right now are just place holders. Should be fine in the final build.

Although I've read that it is pretty much decided and a done deal, they are still working on the legal contract and have yet to sign anything official. Until that is done, they are not legally allowed to mention who it is, and really it wouldn't make much sense to say who when the contract is not yet finalized and signed, just in case something does fall through between HVS and the publisher and they are forced to deal with someone else.

eh..yeah, you have said that basically countless of times. it is bordering on spamming. trust me, when a publisher is announced, this thread will be the first to know.

The publisher is Microsoft... didn't you hear?
Seriously, though... why do people care so much who the publisher is? Will that really sway your decision as to whether you buy it or not? Do you actually think it'll sway others' purchasing decisions?

I thought I was the only person that noticed that alarm/voice thing.
