MarioKart was like every other friend code game but it found people a lot faster and the servers were much better.

Wow the conduit is getting a Hollywood score and professional Hollywood voice actors. It's also pushing the Wii's capabilities to it's limits along with taking advantage of Wii Motion Plus and WiiSpeak.
This had BETTER be a great game.

And a global skill rating system, regular online challenges, the ability to join games in just your own region or worldwide, leaderboards for time trials, downloadable ghosts from the leaderboards, ability to create lobbies for friends to join, a voting system for choosing which track to race on...
If they could get a system going similar to Mario Kart Wii for The Conduit, the whole friend code thing won't be a problem.

YES DEFINITELY! all of those things are great especially the voting on where to play. If the conduit can have all of those, i wouldn't care about friend codes, since you'd be able to send requests they wouldn't really be necessary.

Well Mario Kart Wii gave you an option to play with friends or not. So I really don't see the point you are trying to make if you can explain your reasons for saying that. It'll be very much appreciated.

I believe you are talking about the election? The NDP were on the winning side, they gained seven more seats. BTW what happened to my sig?
Anyway, the conduit needs to have better online than mariokart because in mariokart you still needed to wait to get in. I don't think the conduit will be timed, atleast I hope not.

here's an example, i had an online mariokart party last weekend, putting in the right codes and waiting for people to get online and limited chat and all that stuff really took it's toll on comminication and fun. not to mentiona sll the hastle of putting all those codes and making sure everyone has yours. i had to telephone people i've never even spoken to before just so that everyone had everything set up right and everyone knew what was going on. or i could have closed to room and sent wiimail and expect everyone to wait for me to come back. NOT!!!
it's good to keep kids safe, but there are pin codes that enable you to access certain features in the wii menu. why can the same idea be applied to the gaming?

Not strictly true. Though we do have 576i (note the 'i' - it's interlaced) which is technically 'better' than NTSC standard definition, the Wii no matter what region outputs ED at 480p - it doesn't output 576p.
A 576i image is made up of 2 X 288 frames interlaced (ie: first frame all the even lines, second frame all the odd frames) so 480p still gives a more stable image with less tearing.

Ok, I can see how that'll be a hasel. But I don't think this game will have the same online stuff as mario kart but how medal of honor had theres. Which was great, and judging that this game is for a more mature audience they'll use that style intead. For it is a lot easier and it's not really a kids game.

the registration process was a bit easier for EA games but it was still limited and not very satisfying. why the big step backward?

Is it just me? Or does the gameplay shown so far seem somewhat disappointing. I love the graphics and the potential with multiplayer and online stuff, but the main game just looks... a little bland. I understand that it's early and that the demos "don't reflect the final product."

I've been watching them more and more also and decided tat one way that it would be better is if there were more people on your team fighting behind you. Not just you against the Drudge. I wonder if there are any levels like that. I sure hope there are.

Yeah, in game teamates could be cool (kinda like in halo). But if there were levels where you had CPU allies I think they would have been in a demo by now. CPU allies play either a big part in a game (like in freedom fighters of CoD) or no part in a game. I don't think CPU allies will be a big part of Conduit (probably wont be a part at all)

^yeah i know but thats what i think is missing in some of the levels. I would love to see them in the game though, even if only on some levels. I just want to know more about online, they really haven't told us all that much about it.
