sorry for treiple post but i coudnt use the edit button for some reason. here are two tidbits i found:
Quote:
Developers of the highly anticipated Wii game, The Conduit, are one of the few developers who are actually trying to make a quality game on the Wii. The Conduit is easily one of the best-looking games on the Wii thanks to its ground up engine made just for the system called the Quantum 3. And while High Voltage is hard at work with The Conduit, other developers are not-so hard at work making shovelware and just throwing it at the Wii by the dozens. A quote from Matt Corso adds,
Quote:
|
“The Wii is a really cool game system. It’s worth better games than it’s getting right now. There are some great games out there for the system, but it just seems like there’s such an opportunity to do so much more with it. Considering it’s such a popular system right now, it just doesn’t make sense to not focus on making really quality games.”
|
Every Wii owner should be in love with High Voltage team right now. They are our only hope to stop this barrage of casual games that have plagued the Wii. So I’m telling everyone right now, please buy The Conduit, or this mini-game bonanza were stuck in may never end.

AND THE 1up PREVIEW
Quote:
What's the game about? Did Red Steel leave a bad taste in your mouth? Are you not yet convinced Wii is capable of handling a next-gen first-person shooter on par with the content available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360? If you answered yes to both of those questions, The Conduit seeks to turn that frown upside down with a plot centering on an alien invasion in the near future. At this point, the game does not have a publisher, so we can't be certain we will ever see it in stores.
What's new for E3? We got to see a demonstration of the game provided by High Voltage developers. Since High Voltage didn't have a booth at E3, the only time we saw the game was during lunch in the cafeteria. While chatting with other exhibitors and journalists, Matt Curso and Eric Nofsinger, creative director and chief creative officer at High Voltage, set up the game in a corner of the room using a Wii dev kit, a wireless sensor bar, and a small 12" LCD TV. The situation was fittingly indie.
What's our take? Unfortunately, due to time constraints we didn't have a chance to get some hands-on time with the title, but what was shown to us was unexpectedly welcome.
The Conduit is known for its developer's insistence on the high quality of the game's graphics. Considering the game was being played on a very small TV, we couldn't gauge the level of detail as well as we wanted, but the game looked good while rarely dipping below 30 frames-per-second, even during heavy action scenes.
The Conduit also demonstrated a desire to distance itself from being labeled a traditional fire-and-forget Doom-style shooter through its use of an in-game piece of alien technology called the All-Seeing Eye (ASE). In one segment, the device was used to detect potentially dangerous land mines. In another, the ASE was used to solve an otherwise invisible puzzle on a nondescript wall to gain access to other areas of the game.
However, the game still features traditional FPS staples such as monster closets and a fairly uninspiring boss battle. The latter took place on a half-destroyed bridge against a large spider-like creature called a Drudge.

LINKAGE they used a screen from earlier version but what can you expect from a dite associalted with EGM?

Sounding better every week. But I'm still wondering how they decided on a Q1 release without a publisher...makes no sense.

Because they have at least 10 publishers at their knees and all they have to do is pick one.

Yeah I know, but isnt it the publisher's job to come up with the release date?

If nintendo was to be the publisher they would just dumb it down to a casual game, no doubt about it.

There is a high chance that nintendo could be the publisher. If they were, the game wouldnt be made into a casual game. It defeats the whole idea of making this game. I think nintendo knows the limit.

If nintendo was the publisher, we could hope for half decent marketing.

I'm not going to follow htis game much, it isn't good for me. If I look at every video, every screenshot, and every piece of news, I'm going to be disappointed if it turns out to be a piece of crap.

Well let's hope so...
But if not them, who else would make a good publisher? Activision?

EA would for the online, but they already said that they worked on it with nintendo servers to let 16 people play online at the same time. So I am 90% sure it wont be EA. I hate activision and hope they dont go anywhere near this. Maybe a company like 2k would be good.
