The Official "Why the Wii isn't just kiddie" thread

I figured maybe I'd try to maintain this list in its own thread. I'll do what I can to keep it updated. Might be a good resource to silence the whiners and trolls here on Wiichat and other forums.
This list is one of games that don't fit the "kiddie" or "casual" stereotype that many try to shoehorn the Wii into. Granted, there's a range, such as Zelda which might have some "cute" graphics at times, but is such a massive, epic, and high-quality game that it has to be include. Then SimCity, which while maybe a bit silly in some ways, is still a city simulator and quite distant from all things Pokemon.
This thread is not for debate on whether you like these games or not. Most games have both fans and critics, so save the noise for another thread. Even I don't even own or like all these games, but that's not the point. If the game isn't all Mario/Pokemon/Wii Sports and it seems to be a halfway-decent game that appeals to enough people, I put it on.
Read the title again. "Isn't just kiddie"
Are there kiddie games on the Wii? Yes.
Are there a lot of kiddie games on the Wii? Yes.
Is there a higher-percentage of kiddie games on the Wii than other platforms? Yes.
Is the Wii all kiddie and all casual like so many trolls persist to claim? NO.

From what I've see on De Blob and Mushroom Men, they don't really have a place on this list. That doesn't mean they aren't good games. Mario Kart is an awesome game... but it's outside the scope of this list.
Star Wars is probably a good one to add.

well de blob looks kiddy with bright colours and all but its a nice game. also, mushroom men isnt kiddy at all.

I like the variety we've had so far, I didn't enjoy all the games there as much as some of them but the upcoming titles are looking and sounding really great.
We're starting to see less shovelware and better overall titles, so that's a good first step.

Yeah probably 1/3rd of the games on the already-released part of my list aren't even games I like. As well as some of the upcoming ones I know aren't for me.
However I'm trying to be fair and open-minded. Games like "No More Heroes" are very popular even if they don't appeal to me, and it's definitely not "kiddie".

While I agree that the Wii does have games for the mature audience, I'm not sure why the hell you have Excite Truck and Bully Scholarship Edition. Those are basically two kids games. But the rest of the list looks ok.
But if I want a mature game that I can play, I'm most likely not going to look towards the Wii. However, people that just own the Wii have a variety of games to look at, yes.

yes i think that a game where you have boy-on-boy kissing and the title of a game is bully is a kiddy game. also so you would classify all the racing games as games that only kids play

Maybe I'm wrong about Bully, but my opinion still stands.
And no, not all racing games are for kids, I'm not sure where you picked up on that from my post.
yeah it doesnt look like a kids game. its a racing game at heart with arcady experience.
if bully was kiddy, it woudnt be rated T now would it

Well look at Naruto video games. Some of them are rated T and they're kiddy. I'm not saying kiddy is a bad thing, I actually think Smash Bros. is a little kiddy, but I love all the games in the series.

driver: parellel lines, it sucks but still isn't kiddie. and I dont think I saw Redsteel there. Although i did just glance through it. And theres also all the wiiware games that need to be thought of, or even some of the virtual console. Unless you put those then just forget i said anything...
