I've been contacted by High Voltage

It's true........I'm still in shock.

For those of you who don't know, I have a lot of [original] videos up on YouTube where I basically defend the Wii and things of that nature. Among those videos there are quite a few The Conduit ones. So just today, I checked my inbox, and I saw that someone sent me a message titled "Thanks From High Voltage." I clicked on it, and it read this:

"Agent Shokio!

Just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that the team at High Voltage has been watching your videos on youtube and that we appreciate all of your support! We're very excited about The Conduit and it's the awesome response from fans like you that keep us here working the long hours to make sure that the game delivers.

As a way of saying thanks for all of your support for what we're doing over here, the team would like to send you a Conduit t-shirt. If you send me an email at [can't show his e-mail] with your address and shirt size, we'll get one off to you in the mail soonest.

Thanks again!

Now before you yell "BS!", listen to this. The E-mail he gave me ended in "@high-voltage.com"...........and "high-voltage.com" is the actual HV site. So in order to be able to have an e-mail ending with that, you have to have access to the site........which is only accessible by employees of the company. I tired the E-mail out, and it's an actual e-mail too.

So either: 1) It really is HV employee. Or 2) Someone has pulled a VERY good joke on me, because it's very convincing.

I'm not getting my hopes up though. I'm not that type of person. I'm prepared to find out that [somehow] it's just some randon YouTuber playin a cruel joke on me. It all does seem a little fishy.......or maybe I'm not being gullible enough? What do you guys think?

EDIT: Yea, he was the real deal. He already mailed my shirt. I can't wait for it to get here.

The High Voltage team seem to be paying a lot of attention to the community so I would think it's legitimate. T-shirt's are the items companies normally give away.

That's so cool! It's probably legitimate. But what I might do is to look up their phone number and call the guy. Or at least phone the company and find out if there's a guy by that name that works there in marketing or some such job. I guess I'd be a little hesitant to give out my address without verifying in some way first.

Where are your videos on youtube? I'd love to see them.

your best bet would be to go to the high voltage site, and email the general contact us email address and ask them to confirm that the email is genuine.

As said above, make sure you confirm that the email is indeed in fact from High Voltage... You wouldn't want some random YouTube-er to know your exact address now, would you?

Another member here done a similar thing to you, but for My sims. And they (EA) contacted her and offered her tshirts, stickers and the like. That was legitimate.

Now I'm sure it is a guy from High Voltage. When he E-mailed me back, he gave me his position, adress, HV address, and he even gave me his cell number. I called it, and it really was a guy from High Voltage. I actually had a live conversation with a High Voltage employee. I'm truly honored.

It sounds pretty legit. Maybe you can check and confirm if that is there true e-mail for extra percausion or just risk it, ha.

Very good videos Shoko, I especially liked the WiiSpeak video. You do have a good point there, it's better to not have a headset for a change. Nice videos.

This is really cool, because it shows that High Voltage actually cares about their fans.
