Wired Internet Connection

Okay so my family has a Wired Internet Connection which is pretty good/fast. However we want to use the Wii to get online. From what I'm hearing we need this Nintendo Wii Lan Adapter thing. My question is how do we set it up once we buy it and is this the BEST way to connect to the internet? I don't want it to destroy my Wii or anything you know. Plus I would like to know everyone's opinion on WiiConnect24. Is it great, average or horrible?

You just gotta plug a ethernet cord from your router to the adapter, and the adapter to the wii. It then should be able to detect a wired connection in settings. Theres no room for hurting your wii doing this, no worries.

Best method currently is Wireless since it can be anywhere, but Wired is just as good(if not better) if you are in range of your router.
