As an alternative to the unofficially named 'Wiimote' is the again unofficially named 'Classic Control Pad'
Here's one of the first pics of this pad:
Looks like Nintendo are sticking with what their fans like and whats proven to work.. this is pretty much identical to the SNES controller of old.

that looks like a nice alternative in case the motion sensor doesn't work as well for some people/some game or a combination thereof
though i like the throwback, i wish they had stuck with something closer to the cubes layout for a-b-x-y it really was an inspired design

Nice, but I would much prefer to use the shell controller like the gamecube ones, they feel more ergonomic.

it could be designed to use the cube controller ports on the console making it cheaper. maybe there is a wireless version as well

this is a good addition to the Wii-mote... use the Wii-mote for your fps and other games, and the "classic" for fighting games or the virtual console

The classic controller I believe is made for the Virtual Console and there games. Dont quote me I could be wrong.

No, I don't think it's to scale...
I like the design, but i'd also prefer a wireless version of it. It's a good start though!

Classic controller looks great, I reckon there'll probably be a wireless and cord version.

It's all wired considering it hooks into the Wii-mote

Yes it is hooked to the Wiimote so it's actually wireless. Also the Wiimote will hang on the bottom of the controller on a clip, so it will add to the weight since the classic controller is very light.

All I can say is, it looks a LOT more comfortable than their past controllers, especially the N64. I look forward to using this controller.
