hello, i just received my component cables from penguin united (www.penguinunited.com) and have gotten the regular settings to work fine with the cable. when i choose the EDTV setting in the wii system menu it turns into a dark screen with white wavy lines in it.. my tv is a phillips that is capable of EDTV so i didn't think it would be a problem with components.. has any had this or similar problems when trying to use the progressive function??

when i switch from standard to HD on mine, i get a black screen with red green and blue wavy lines for a second, its stardard for an input switch, but it only lasts a second....

if yours is freezing like that it could be the wii or the tv or that cables... i would suggest narrowing it down by trying another tv, a friends component cables, or your cables on a friends wii.

good luck
