WiiKey, CycloWii or WiiFree??
Could someone with a bit more experience in this field tell me which one is the best modchip for Wii and why?
Thanks!

The "Best" mod chip is purely down to preference...
I was torn between the Wiikey & Cyclowiz
but I'm going to go for the Wiikey... why?
well because I dont need a switch(or two wires sticking out the back) to update the Wiikey... which you do for the cyclowiz (last I checked)
So i'm going to go for Mr Wiikey
your best bet is to read up lots and make sure its what you want to do...

wiikey is your best bet unless you want to drill a hole in your case(you never know) i have also heard a lot of problems with cyclowiz. so your best bet is with wiikey, i would also reccomend looking at the winja.

Does Nintendo have a history of deliberately attempting to neutralize modchips? I know that Sony and MS do, but I didn't think that Nintendo did.

They know about it and they are always revising the wii's to make it harder for people to installed chips, plus rumours are saying nintendo has released updates to screw modded wiis etc

Revising the Wii hardware? Do you have any technical data to support that or is it just rumor? Yes, I know about rumors about Nintendo releasing updates to mess with modded Wiis, but that is just spotty rumor. Probably from social misfits looking for attention.

Nintendo has changed the layout of their mobo to prevent modchips. But from what I have heard, wire installs are still possible. These new Wiis are only available in Japan.

I own the Wiikey and it works great. I'll recommend it because it can be configured or updated via a DVD so its future-proof.
