I was going to find the ebay stores I bought them from but a new member to the forum posted a great site! Check this out http://www.wiichat.com/nintendo-wii-...y-listing.html

I saw that thread. But I don't see any buy-it-now plus shipping cost to be lower than what I saw at CircuitCity.com last Sunday (e.g. $30 MP8, $20 Madden 07, etc.).

There are new Wii's that has newer chip or solder points removed but it only start to show up recently.
The Wii has no warranty sticker on it and thus noway of Nintendo to prove it's been open. And I have heard of people successfully getting their replaced by Nintendo even there are very obvious signs of failed modchip attempt.
I'm not encouraging modchips, just stating some facts.

Do you mean a video on how to disassemble a Wii? The modchip install itself is best done by following the picture of the solder points.

I saw an online video that did the mod chip installation in 10min or so. Once I found it back, I'll put the link here. Stay tune.
Update:
I found in another forum that the video has been blocked by youtube. Sorry guys.

Here is another one. But this guy is not as professional as the one on the other video that I saw before and this site is horribly slow.

You shouldn't say "jap" as its an insulting word. Say JP instead. Yes you can and should download your updates from the internet.

Yes. Connecting your Wii to the internet and downloading the updates is the safest way. All of the bricked Wiis so far have been from updates on game discs.

Hmm.. Ill try on my Wii and try to walk you through it
Main menu choose Wii options in the bottom left
Choose Wii Settings on the right
Goto the third page
Select the third item down
It will ask to connect to the internet, say yes (on the left)
It will test connection and download the update

No. Be careful when you select the third one down because the 4th one is to reformat the memory!

Hellu, I dont exactly know what ive gotten myself into really what with your talk about internet updates and such but I was passing a store that sold nintendo wiis here in bejing on my travels in china and bought one cause they were so cheap compared to sweden (just one game in sweden is from 70 to 85 US dollars). Anyways, you lads seem to know alot about it so here goes
If I connect it to internet in sweden, will there be any problems with online updating\gaming? (for example will I be able to play other swedes)
Can I play PAL-games on the wii (no clue what chip I have)
Can I see what kind of chip I have? I thought it would be more like my modded xbox with new software and such
I didnt even know that it had an online feature, does it cost money to use?
thanks for you help.
