i have finished the game zelda, (and many more too). and i want to start useing a memory card, just incase something happens. How do i make this work? do i just leave it in there for a while? and it copys the data. or do i have to play all my games, and save when the cards in?

i think you can save to the flash memory in the Wii itself and transfer to an SD card (or MicroSD or MiniSD with an SD adapter) later for backup purposes.

but ive only had my wii for a short while so i could be wrong

Nope, your right. SD is only for back up purposes for now. Nothing will save directly to it, so you just have to copy your data over for back up.
