Take the remote apart and loosen it up.
Worked for mine.

As long as you are careful and make sure you know where the buttons go, taking it apart is easy as hell

i think you need a tri wing screw driver though

Yes, you will.
I suggest ordering a custom case replacement, they routinely come with a tri-wing screwdriver for roughly $10 USD.
Keep in mind that if you don't send it back and decide to open it yourself, it will void the warranty!
If you don't mind or it's beyond warranted replacement/repair...
