component cable gone bad?

hi i just bought a component cable for my wii, been playing for a week or so everything was fine, today i turn it on and it looks like a ninja slashed the screen from left to right a bunch of times, you can see everything it just looks bad, could it be that the wii took a crap on me, any way to troubleshoot?

How do things look if you hook it up instead with the original composite cables(red,white, yellow)?
