Finally bought a Wii today, and bought component cables for $13. The only problem is the audio. I'm not sure how to connect the Wii to my reciever. With the 360 and PS3, it was easy due to optical outputs. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm only new here... but... far as I know... Wii's are stereo, not 5.1...

So the only way to hook a Wii up to a 5.1 system is to put it on the front left and front right speakers...

The Wii component cables are for connecting to your TV, not for the sound...

I should've clarified it better. I know the component cable are for picture, but I'm not sure how to hook the the two audio plugs into my surround sound (for Pro Logic). They can't reach. Is there another way? I'm really limited in knowledge with this sort of thing.

I'm not too sure on how you would hook in the audio to your reciever (due to the fact i just have a regular dvd surround sound system & hook the Wii into that using the rca cables). But hopefully someone else can help you with that!

And for the record the Wii can output Dolby Progic 2. (which is a form of Surround Sound!) (It's on the box! )

Hope i helped (a bit )

You do use the red & white cables. Pro Logic II is simulated surround sound.
