To go "online" with my WII -
Can I use ANY USB wireless adapter?
or do I need a "NIntendo one"
I have a trendnet USB 2.0 wireless adapter I want to use - but afraid to open it....unless I know it will work. (I already have wirless in the house with DSL)

What can I do online - without the Online channel?

Thanks

Wi-Fi is already built into your Wii... if you already have a wireless Access Point (AP) in your house then you do not need the USB wireless adapter.

Nintendo's wireless USB adapter is meant to plug into your PC to make it act like an AP if you don't already have an AP.

does this help?

"idjut" that pretty much sums it up. Although you could use a Non-Nintendo brand (Linksys, D-Link, Airlink, etc) WiFi card/USB Attachment form your PC if you have one. Set it in Ad-Hoc mode, and connect to the Web that way. Kind of complicated though. So most would be better off with using Nintendo's Wii's internal.
