Am I correct that there's really no alternative to spending $39.99 for a Wiimote? That seems to be the price everywhere--online, WalMart, Game Stop, etc.

There aren't any 3rd party Wiimotes, are there?

You get a wiimote when u buy Wiiplay (i think thats what its called) but other then that you have to purchase one for 39.99

Okay...cool. I didn't know that.

Sounds like the Wiiplay games are pretty lame, but for $10, it might be worth it to have some more games to play (plus my 5 y.o. daughter might enjoy them enough to make it worth it).

The price is why I have neglected getting more Wiimotes.
WiiPlay seems like another alternative but its just more reason for my mom wanting to use my Wii

Hopefully the price is lowered soon.
