I just bought myself a HDTV and I was wondering is it worth to get component cables. Is there a lot of difference bewteen component and composite cables? Does the image on the component cables look better?

It will change from 480i to 480p, colors will be a little bit more vibrant, but that is. Remember Wii is not High Definition, just Standard Definition so you will not get the full potential of your TV (720 or 1080p)

The Nyko component cables are only $15. Thats not much, however knowing the quality of Nyko I refused to buy it. Is there anyone who brought these Nyko component cables to say whether its worth it or not?

I ordered a set of component cables on eBay. The total with shipping came to something like $7. I use component cables for one of my satellite receivers, and it's make a HUGE difference. So I'll be surprised if it doesn't make some sort of difference on the Wii.

IT'S VERY WORTH IT!!! especially at the price below!

Which Component Cable?

ANY cable... really... i got my 3 footer for $6.81 AFTER shipping from ebay.

ANY component cable made for wii. just dont' get one of those cables that supports, wii, 360, and ps3 all the same time... pricey!

ANY wii component cable 3 to 6 feet long... the shorter, the better!
Dealextreme ($5.78 including shipping)

Quite honestly..component cables (Mine are official Nintendo ones) make an amazing difference. I have a 52 inch DLP HDTV and I play smash bros a ton. The difference between having progressive on and off..is insane. Youl never want to play it on a regular tv again.

I got component cables 4 liek $10.

My tv doesn't even support 480p but the colors look a lot more vivid and differentiated.

Not worth it? It is a neccesity with any HD tv and if you dont belive me ask any person that knows something about tvs.
When you transfer your video feed from your cable box to your tv, you need a good cable. Also this goes for anything that you send to your Tv If you try and send HIgh Quality video through a cheap crappy cable you lose tremendous Quality.

I would pay a little more money an buy like a MonsterCable or a good reliable brand. The cables that the tv company give your are jsut cheap china junk.
They want give you the most inexpenxive product and charge you a fortune.

Brands mean nothing when it comes to cables. A $5 brand is generally just as good as a $50 brand. The "Monster" cable thing is just a scam.

I Wouldnt saay that it is a scam, some cables that are 5$ are good enough for the average Joe but a MonsterCable is a professional grade quality. Ask any electronic expert.

Just look at the diametor of the Monstercable compared to the average one. It is much bigger and more fibers to pass info throught. Now Monstercable is fiberoptic which is the ultimate cable.

Bottom Line: "You get what you pay for"

It's worth it if you have all the right things in all the right places

but 90% of the time it makes virtually no difference and the "better quality" you see is all in your head

and most pictures on a TV can be improved to be 20% better just by tweeking the brightness/contrast, sharpness, Gamma etc
