The first poster puts it perfectly, a vibrating noise that came out of the blue. Apparently Nintendo says its "a drive balance issue that creates a "disc wobble". They said it is very uncommon".

Well all I have to do now is get in touch with Nintendo, if their phone lines aren't too jammed!

Like i said, dont bother emailing you dont get a reply (well i havent) and phoning is no good unless you have a whole day to waste trying to get through to them...

just send your wii back to them

If you too have a broken Wii, Simply send it back to nintendo at the following address, and remember to include a note detailing problem, your address and your invoice for purchase from where ever you got yours.

Address is,

Wii
Nintendo Sevice center
Codestormhouse
Walton Road

in Canada/USA, we have a special FREE shipping to send it back to Nintendo, check the Canada/USA website about that.

I am having the same problem, started about 4 weeks after owning system. i notice they don't appear on the Internet Channel but there are alot more on legend of zelda. i have tried formatting the system memory, didn't expect much of a result, but tried anyway. might have made it worse. Emailed nintendo as well, but not really expexting an answer for a while. I think the graphic processor is defective. Here are links to a few pics of the artifacts.

ok

but let's say the problems happening here are not happening to everybody.

most of the peoples out there will think "hey i buy something that will have 70% chance of being broken", that's not true. Those are special cases. Plus, Nintendo really care about broken Wiis and they will be happy to replace your broken system as soon as possible.

let me tell you, they got FREE and FAST shipping services, friendly techs on the phone, they even offer FREE replacement straps (the rope attached on your Wiimote is now 2x thicker than the regular strap that come with the system). They don't want anyone whining at them (not like Microsoft or Sony with they crappy customer support).

so as i said, the got the best service and they will happily replace your broken Wii. Don't forget to register your system on the Nintendo website though (for a complete 1-year Warranty), to do so, subscribe to My Nintendo on the website.

And no i don't work for Nintendo, i'm just telling the truth.

Not sure if this is a problem....but in Rayman when the guard is taking u out to do more mini games several white dots float around the door. I though i could be dust but i looked at gameplay on youtube and didn't see any. The white dots don't seem to appear on tenkaichi 2, Trauma center, or wii sports. I have to double check zelda though. anyone know what it could be?

Finally got in touch with Nintendo this morning. The bloke didn't seem he had heard of my problem before (the noisy, vibrating disk drive) but he said to send it in, like you've been saying all along Nick Here in the UK Nintendo don't offer free shipping that I know know of, we have to do it at our own expence.

I took mine back to the store. I don't live in America, so I don't get the spiffy free shipping with Nintendo. Plus, taking it back to the store was easy. Being a staff member probably helped some. I was sure to check with the Department of Fair Trading before I left, incase they tried anything. Of course the only problem was the Big W store didn't have any Wii's in stock. So, I got my money back. Now, I have Zelda and no console to play it on. I have to go to another Big W to get a new one. I admit, I did consider not getting a new one. But I really love Zelda. Even if the whole "saving people" is annoying.

HELP!!! HELP!!! HELP!!!

My Wii has died!!!!

I have had trouble connecting to the internet so I changed the broadcast channel of my router, and now the Wii doesnt come on at all!!

The blue light comes on and I can hear the disk spinning, but no signal is sent to my TV. I have unplugged and replugged each of the Wii cables and changed the SCART port it is connected into and nothing.

Does anyone know how to fix, or perform a hard reboot on the Wii?? WiConnect24 has been on, but I have never been sure it is doing anything (my Wii connects intermittently) so it may of downloaded and update and died.

If anyone has any clues, please let me know.

I''ve tried speaking to Nintendo Uk customer services, who are as much help as a chocolate fireguard. The said send it back to them, with my name and address and they will put it to one side and "take a look at it"?!?! They didn't give me a reference number, or even take my name on the phone!!!

Thats really bad mate I ain't got a clue what the problem is. All I can say is it might be best to send it in to Nintendo and have them sort it out. I'm sure it won't matter about no number or names asked, they told me the same thing this morning. I'm gonna send my Wii out first thing tomorrow morning and definantly will use recorded delivery. Hope they don't keep it too long!

SD Card Slot Question

Hi,

Just wondering if any of you lot are having similar issues...

I have a 1G sony memory stick pro duo card and have been searching for a way to convert this to SD so I can get all my stuff of it, and on to my Wii.

Does anyone know a a product that will do this?

If not do the USB port accept card readers, and is there a usb card reader out there that can do this job?

Be really great if someone can help on this!

Wii Crash Together

Yesterday i managed to get the internet working on my Wii and it worked fine all day and i installed the sonic the hedgehog game and everything worked fine and i turned it off that day. In the morning i wake up to discover the blue light coming on and off which means i have a message or something right? well i turned it on and it works fine until i get to the wii menu and then the whole thing crashes and i cannot do anything except hold the power off button down and even when i turn it back on it still does the same thing
