Have you checked the fuse? If so there may be something wrong with the power supply and to the Nintendo Service Centre it will need to go.

Is the blue light on at the bottom of your remote? Or do they just flash and then turn off? If the light is on look at the sensor bar through a digital camera while the Wii is turned on. There should be five bright blue lights at each end of the bar. Do these tests and let me know.

I did not see any lights when looking through the camera, so I inspected the sensor bar and apparently my wonderful kitty was bored one day and decided to chew the cord up. I really appreciate your help, we have a new sensor bar on the way!

Hey everyone, I'm having a strange problem with my wii. The last time I played it, it played fine and everything, but now only the blue light will come on and nothing else. I've tried taking out and putting the cords back, I've made sure its connected to the right plugs and so forth but it still just sits there, not doing anything. :/ Even the fan won't turn on, literally all it does is turn on the light and nothing else.

Any thoughts?

I know it sounds unusal but it has worked for others, I would personally leave it unplugged for closer to 8hrs to be sure. If it still does not work there is definitely a hardware fault somewhere and should be sent on over to Nintendo.

I agree, I would imagine the long power down will work, but only for a short time before it happens again, I suspect the power cable more then the console.

If you know anybody with a Wii try their power cable and see if it works and also try their console on your power suplly, this should help narrow down where the hardware fault is and you will be sure what to send to Nintendo, but I do believe thats where it will need to go.

Wii balance board problem

Our Wii balance board has been working fine, but went to use it today and it kept giving a message "Please step off balance board and press A." I was not standing on the board. It worked just fine last night and this morning for someone else. Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas on a fix?

This can happen, check that it is still on a flat floor and check for dirt or anything small stuck in the cracks or feet of the board anything like this could make the board think that someone is standing on it. Something is applying pressure to the board, if none of this helps it will need to be sent to Nintendo for replacement.

Hi all,

Can't configure my profile for Wii Fit. The screen goes blank & freeze after the BMI stage and stay so after 5min. Is this a real problem or should I wait longer?

The balance board works fine andis detected by the Wii machine.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Why have a sticky for issues? It should be a subforum..

Hey, i have a weird remote problem with my wii.

It seems the recieverpart on my wii(not the sensorbar, inside the wii) is acting up when it gets moderately hot(~25-27c). The curser jumps wildy around the screen, making it impossible to make any selections in and outside games.

This evening it began working about 9PM.
When the temperatur fell to 22-24c the remotes began to work in the ideal range 3 meters or so, but began jumping all around the screen when going outside that range. Then now, later they function perfectly, being able to point precisely from 1m to 6-7meters...

I have cleaned the reciever(sensorbar) and the remotes's fronts and tried with fully charged batteries(only rechargable though).

EDIT: OK nevermind. I should have read the troubleshooting properly. It was sun interference(with a white wall behind the wii), which of couse happens about the same time...

so here is my story. I was at Taiwan and there the shops were selling Japanese Wiis which could play any region games (modded ones). I tested a few english games there and it worked fine. I came to my hotel room, played for a few hours and it worked like a charm. I am from India and returned to my country and plugged in the Wii with the neccesary adapter as shown here in some post. Now the Wii does start, but when I insert the game DVD it shows me a Question Mark. I don't know why but I can't feel that the drive is spinning the DVD. Can anyone help me out??
