are you using the same brand of batteries when you replaced? or are they cheap branded batteries? ( like the ones are are $5 for a pack of 50)

dodgy batteries can cause what you are decribing. try some eveready or duracel batteries and see how they go or even some new rechargable ones?

My wii is not working, it is not able to load any game discs nor channels, however it turns on normally. When I access the mii channell it would just show a black screen but the catchy music will play in the background (just no image to show).

Has anyone had this problem? I was told it might be the firmware, i have 3.3u and my wii has no chipset or anything. Does anyone know when the new firmware update will be availible??

I had a problem where my wii would not go into standby. The green power light was remaining on. So I disconnected the AC adapter, and reconnected it, and now it won't power on at all.

Has this happened to anyone else. I have been to the nintendo website and tried the steps suggested but I still have no power at all.

Hi guys,

Our Why eye decided to freeze today:

Green light on and grey screen - reset didn't work, nor did power button.

Turned off at mains and now it won't even turn on.

Am thinking it's a power cord / Adapter issue...

Is it possible this is the case and if so, can I get a new one?

Thanks guys

Pete

GOT IT!!!

All you have to do is change the fuse - a 3 amp (red) fuse, like the one in the plug, will do.

It worked for me.

Maybe it'll work for you too, 4_princess?

1. Remove the cover using a small, flat screwdriver.
2. Remove fuse using screwdriver.
3 Replace and recover.

Hopefully it'll work!

Good Luck!

I'm a happy bunny, cos now my girlfriend can play TMNT again!

one of my remotes is acting strange, I was playing mario and sonic at the olympics, and it wasn't picking up my movements. The pointer works fine, but on the games that require movements up and down motions of the remote it isn't picking them up.

However I did a little test with my other games, and the remote works fine for throwing in madden and in mohh2. Which is odd, because the throwing motion is up and down. Also it doesn't work for mario kart, when turning it nothing happens. I don't know if something is wrong with the acceleramtors or what is going on. Is there anything I can do it fix it or do I need to get a new remote for those games?

thanks

It sounds like the lateral tilt monitor is FUBAR...

Try using another remote - if it works, then the controller's the problem.

Buy Wii Play for a cheap one - the game comes with it and it's less expensive than buying a remote.

But if you do buy a remote, get the chargable ones...
Купите одно онлайн. это менее дорого, мой друг

Let us know if the lateral (hold face up and dip left and right) works in other games like Excite Truck or any minigames you've got.

I'm afraid I don't...

It's possible that it has been dropped or (accidentally) thrown.
It may be that there is a faulty contact or that a "dry" joint on the circuitry has come loose.

Since it's the tilt detector that's broken, you, unfortunately, must buy a new one.

Sorry,

Pete

DO keep the broken one, though, for games that don't need that movement...

Or you could send it to Nintendo to get it fixed / replaced if the Wii is still under warranty.

Cos it just stopped working, right?

Have you considered the power differences in the respective version of international sales Wii's?

The UK ones are compatible with US AC/DC, but some people have problems...

It's not your Wii, hopefully - have you tried changing the fuse?

If you have, or experience the same problem again, once the fuse has been replaced - it could be that the power surge has damaged the adapter.

But that's what the fuse is for - to stop that from happening...

If the adapter is knackered, then you've got a problem.

You'll need a new one - take the Wii to a decent shop and try it out with THEIR adapter.

If it works - there's your problem... Buy it.
If it doesn't...

That'll teach you to be a cheapskate and not buy the Wii's designed for your country.

Your Wii will have gone FUBAR and you'll need to buy a new one.

1 - check fuse, replace with one the same (3 amp - red)
2 - if that don't work, try another adapter. If that don't work it's the Wii gone kaput.
3 - Buy the Wii that's meant to be for your power supply in your country.

Having to buy two from abroad is more expensive than one from the shop down the town which will provide you with a warranty, so you don't have to pay a penny for any problems you get with it.

Thanks to you saccade,
Yes it was the power supply ,In mauritius we use 240volts and it ie just my luck only the adapter blew up. We bought the right one and now it is all solved. In Mauritius it is so expensive twice the price. Well thanks again for the advise.
I send you lot of sunshine from Mauritius

Good to hear it's working again Majoe.

Mauritius is a beautiful country.

Let us know if you've got any more problems - hopefully having the right power supply will mean you can be the Mario Kart King and kick the world's ar$e in the monthly competitions!

And no more blowing up due to the international power differences.

It's good to know it was just the adapter and not the Wii!

Have fun mate!
