My Wii is connected to a 20.1" Widescreen PC Monitor (VGA D-sub connection). I use the KWorld TVBox 1680ex to connect the Wii and other video components to this monitor.

$62 after shipping

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...td-_-15260010R

It supports 1080p audio, HD-TV tuner, Svideo, and RCA, etc.

See Spoiler for SPECS!

Spoiler Alert!

Send me a PM if you want a link to an ebay auction that is a solution t your problem. Apparently posting the solutiong is classed as 'ebay spam' as brought to my attention by a moderator, so if you want a product that solves your problem feel free to PM me, wouldn't want to spam your thread with a solution to your problem.

those converters are probably outputting at 640x480 resolution, your monitor is just complaining because it can do better than that, the problem is that the Wii (or any other standard NTSC or PAL output) can't, it's just a quality thing, and it's actually as good as it can get. If your monitor won't output at all, then I have no answer

Monitors can ONLY output in 480p, NOT 480i. Monitors are unable to display interlaced pictures, they can only display progressive scan.

So don't set your Wii on anything BUT 480p.

Also, you MUST use component cables with a VGA adapter, NOT composite cables.

WILD MOUSE
I've got an ATI-TV-WONDER 650 tv pc card and an AGC ATI 2600 VGA board running my Panasonic 42" plasma screen. The ATI software was so unstable that I switched to Snapscreen-BeyondTV which is much better for normal and HDTV.

BUT: There is such a delay between the Wii component output and the screen image that the mouse goes wild. What to do?

You're not going to be able to use a TV capture card to play Wii. You need a VGA box.

I think I know my problem. I should set my wii first through a tv set (with the component cabel for 480p). After all of that than I can use my xcm 1080p vga box with my monitor. But there is still one problem. I dont have a tv and could someone tell me, how can I set it without a tv?

I actually made a thread about navigating the Wii's menus using sound when you don't have video. I'll try to go find it and bump it for you.

im hoping your talking about just the wii , because , i have my ps3 hook up to my computer monitor , and it displays at least 720p , but yea i never thought about hooking my wii to it , but then again my wii is hooked up to one of my old tvs

What I mean is, monitors can only display progressive scan, not interlaced.

Most/all monitors can display 480p, 720p, and 1080p.

None of them can display 480i, 720i, or 1080i.

So if you use a Wii on a monitor, it HAS to be set to 480p.
