Get the component (red/blue/green) cables. They're the step up from s-video.

I answered this in my first post to this thread. Go back and read page 1.

- component > s-video > composite
- How much improvement you see depends on the size of your TV. The bigger the TV, the more-noticeable the improvement
- 480p is not "high-def". However, most people haven't ever owned anything that could display 480p until they got an HDTV.
- A screenshot won't really show the difference between 480p and 480i as it has to do with motion. You really have to see it.
- Component cables are cheap. Just pick up some 3rd-party ones and be done with it.

Lol, I searched component cable and nothing came up so I made a new thread. Sorry if that offended you

LOL
Ne ways the cables are worth buying if you gots a HDTV or even an old skool Big screen tv. The color is clean and the picture is sharp, only downside is how long the cable is but besides that it's great!

There is a noticeable difference between A/V cables, and component.
More so on an LCD TV.
But yes you will see and hear a difference.

yea, ok there. you probably tried to plug in component into an A/V slot or vice versa, lol.
Theres 5 (FIVE) cables in component. 3 for Video, and 2 for audio.
Dont listen to this person, There most surely IS a difference, and you can get wii component cables for 5$ on some websites, 10$ on most and 15-20$ at retail stores like walmart.

Hey I posted my own thread but no one responded, so seeing as everyone in here has experience with the EDTV cables I figured I would ask. I bought the component cables from Gamestop the other day and plugged them in. They make the picture look worse. It's especially noticeable in the menus- all the text gets fuzzy, and in gaming there is no noticeable difference. I've got everything set up correctly, but it looks like crap. It's on a 55" Sony Grand Wega LCD rear projection TV so I figured there would be a noticeable improvement, not a blurrier picture. Could it be the cables is just cheap? It's made by MadCatz and is universal so it's got Wii, PS3, and XBox 360 plugs on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ummm...yes, buying them was the right choice. There IS a noticeable difference. The bigger the television the more noticeable the difference. It was night and day on our 52 inch LCD. It was very noticable on our 32 inch LCD as well.
Still doesn't MAKE it HD because it just isn't, but much sharper and colors are much more vibrant.

does the wii settings show it's on 480p? otherwise you probably got a defective one or the quality is bad. like what people have said here, the difference won't be that huge but in your case it you said it actually looked worse, so im guessing there's something wrong with the cables itself.

True, any other 3rd party cables is not a wise choice eventually it will break, or will malfunction, should of just went with the nintendo brand although it may cost extra

I really hope you don't actually believe that.

Haha. ^How old are you to be calling people "son". And the component cables' brand name doesn't matter.
