The Wii isn't HD, but component cables will provide better picture quality and allow you to do progressive which will give you a more-stable image.
All this was already covered in this thread. I suggest reading threads before replying to them.

I'm looking for one in Canada, Ontario thats cheap. $40 for a component cable when you can only play on 480p is a rip-off.

Im fully aware of the Wii not being HD and fully aware of what the cable does as i have read this post, i was asking about my TV's HD feature and if anyone could help me as HD had been mentioned in this post. So i suggest you read my post first.

I did read your question. Here, I'll quote you. You asked:

Is it worth getting the [component] cables for this
|
Again, this is the question already answered. The answer (stated many times), is yes, as component is better than composite and S-video. If you are not actually asking if it's worth getting component cables, then please rephrase your question so we can provide a better answer other than the one already provided.
You also asked:

how good is the HD on this
|
Since the Wii isn't HD, it doesn't matter. If you're not asking about the Wii, and are just wondering if your TV provides good HD, this is the wrong thread and wrong forum altogether. This thread is about component cables on the Wii. Anything else is off-topic.

Exactly, sremick! But it's easier for some of these people to beat a dead horse than to actually take the time to read the posts!

I use component on my 22" LCD TV, only problem is that the TV doesn't like the signals the Wii pumps out for VC games.
That said, component is WAY better then composite, even more so if you use it for web surfing

You can pick a cheap set up for under $10 (that includes shipping) on Amazon or EBay. Heck, if you hate it after you try it out...sell them to your friend. I'm pretty sure you'll notice a small improvement though.

Some people think that just because they may use this forum often and have a bit of a reputation on hear that they can be a bit rude, not naming anyone.
I am sorry for asking about my TV, as people were discussing HD earlier on in the post I thought I might as well ask.
I’m fairly new to this forum but i doubt ill use it much more as it seems you can’t ask much without people getting on your back telling you this and suggesting that. Come of your high horse.
Once again I apologise for wasting your time.

Use this forum often? There are plenty of people with 2x-5x the number of posts as me. It doesn't take long to get over 1000 posts. It doesn't mean anything. And any reputation I have is from people agreeing with me. You'll have to point out where I was bragging or swinging around either my post count or my reputation, as I don't recall mentioning it.
You asked two questions: one was already answered in the same thread (not to mention countless other threads, but that's besides the point). The other question was vague and off-topic. The responses were to be expected, since it's considered "rude" to not read a thread you're responding to and repeating already-answered questions, as well as hijacking threads with off-topic questions.
If you don't like these fundamental forum etiquette guidelines, no one is going to lose any sleep over you departing Wiichat.
