i'm really confused with the usb slot on the back. i thought i could get pictures off my usb flash drive. i plugged it in and the indicator light which tells me if it works was on. I thoght that was really stupid -Robo Petey

Why in the heck would you want to watch a DVD through an RCA cable? I JUST got a Wii, and unless I'm missing something there is only RCA output, which really really surprised me. I figured it'd have S-Video at least.

they have the 5 plught the red green blue but you have to buy them and i dont think they have a svideo yet and im thinking svideo is out dated know

It's not outdated...yet. Good to know there is a component cable out there. I was wondering how my friend had his up on his 60" TV. Def. not RCA cables.

Does anybody has tryied Symbiote's hack to play DVD´s? Does it works?
It requires you to start up from a CD and then change to the DVD.
I didn´t try it yet.

I think this thread is retarded. Nintendo has NEVER had a console out that was able to play cds or dvds....go buy a xbox 360 or ps3...if you want to watch dvds or listen to cds on a gaming console.

And I bought a 64DD expansion from a peddler in Japan, and the wii doesn't have the slot to attach the DD ... what a waste! The Wii should be pulled off the shelves if these are the shennanigans they will be pulling.

why doesnt the wii have built in flat HD screen tv i tryed puting 1 in 2 the sd slot but it didnt fit same with my sofa i mean what im i to sit on and with wile playing my wii what with the ds not fitting the disk slot i even tried dslite

they can play music but only in the photo channel and you need a SD card.
but i really hope you can get to play dvd.

the only reason i dont care that my wii play dvds is i wouldnt want to start up my wii every time i wanted to watch a dvd. i always thought it was annoying to have the ps2 start up to watch a movie. n then it shortens the lifespan of the ps2 who knows if it would do the same to a wii. plus the wii is so small and a dvd players are tiny now-a-days that even next to each other they are still smaller then a ps2, xbox, ps3 or 360.
so its a good thing that esoterika got himself a dvd player
