A semi-worthless button. Classic Controller.
What does the button in the very middle of the very top do? The classic is all I use for brawl. The only thing I could think of is that it resets the nuetral position of the controll stick when you hold it down for like 5 seconds or so. But it doesnt. Do any of you guys know?

Flip the classic controller onto it's back and keep pressing it, you will notice something moving.

i was just going to say i've seen what the picture above is depicting. But i have 2 questions regarding this button and that clip:
1) Where does that clip come from? Is/was/will it be something included with Wii system that I happened to over look or is it something out there right now but sold seperately.
2) What on earth would you ever need to do that for? I mean why would you need to have the wiimote moving with the controller while your hands are operating the classic controller. Only two things spring to mind, either they are making a very messy and lazy version of the PS3 sixaxis by doing so, or they simply are trying to keep the whole thing one unit so you don't have to drag the wiimote around by the cord like some high-tech ball and chain.
Edit:
Upon further contemplation I've reached a third possibility. There could be some future functionality that involves both the classic controller setup and the interactivity of the infrared.

I'm sure the clip is just so you don't have to let the remote lay in your lap or something while you use the classic controller. Keeps them both up and out of the way.

Or, for some games to implement a rumble like feature using the CC.
Another possibility.

well where do you get it because that would be very convenient since i sometimes forget my CC is connected to my Wiimote and end up dropping or dragging the wiimote... or did i miss it in the CC or Wii console package?

I dont think it was in any of the packageing for either consoles but im not to sure on this besides you may aswell keep the remote in your lap when using the controller.

According to this site, there is no such clip in existence and any clip that we DO happen to see is purely unofficial.

It's for the handle grips that make it more like a PS1/2 controller rather than a SNES controller. At this time, Nintendo does not make them; only Nyko makes the grips. They make the CC infinitely more comfortable to play. I picked them up from Gamestop for $7.
