Game Progress Not Saving

Why does my game progress not seem to be saving? Setup asked me something about saving games and I said no at the time. Is that why every game starts from the beginning each time a put it in with no choice of loading a game? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm brand new to Wii.

My guess is that you turned autosave off. Which means, you must manually go into the game and save. I don't know how to fix this, but their is probably an options menu where you can turn on Autosave.
