Settings error

Anyone know how to reset a wii.
I cannot get into the Settings menu.

Evey time I try to get into Settings menu the screen blanks for a few seconds then up pops an Opera Error page.
Cannot get any other menus or options.
I do not have it connected to router or internet. It just seems to default to the opera error page?????

It plays game fine & Mii channel works just cannot change any settings ?

Thanks

What country was this Wii made for?
What country are you in?
Have you ever tried to play a game from another country in it, or a "copy" of a game?
Does this Wii have a modchip in it?

I would take the guess that it was a modded Wii, then someone tried to run a game from a different region, and that game contained a firmware update. Because the firmware update was for the wrong regional hardware, when it was applied to that Wii, it messed it up. This has been done by others with these exact symptoms.

When the person realized they had ruined their Wii, they pawned it off hoping that the fact it wasn't 100% working wouldn't be noticed. You're the unlucky recipient of this.

If I'm correct, no.

If I'm not correct, you can send it back to Nintendo for repair. If you're lucky it'll be under-warranty, but slim chance there.
