gamecube games on Wii problems

why am i not able to play gamecube game on my Wii. I have a classic remote that i bought shortly after purchasing the Wii but when i hit reset, i get an error message. I do not have a memory card from my old gamecube anymore but i do have a new memory card for the Wii. The remotes are what seems to be holding me back, any suggestions???

Um...As far as I know, you can play Gamecube games souly with the gamecube controller. I'm guessing the memory card is just like one from a Gamecube except white or something?

You need a Gamecube controller and a Gamecube memory card. Without them it won't work.
