Wii remote works outside game but not in

Please help!!! One of our remotes worked fine all day, through hours of playing a number of different games, than suddenly stopped working in the games. For example, on Wii Sports, the cursor works fine, a and b buttons are recognized when choosing games but when we try to bowl or play golf, it will not recognize our movements. Our second remote works fine. Has anyone run into this before? If so, how did you fix?

I have somewhat of a similar problem - when i leave the menu, all remotes but one drop off the wii's radar. I just push the home button and go to "wii remote settings" and then to "reconnect" (both at the bottom of their respective screens) and add all the remotes i need from there. Still, if anyone knows of a more permanent solution, please share with the class.

For Spinky, it might because of the accelerometers in the remote...It happened to me once, it slips out or something...Give it a little whack with your hand and if you're lucky it might not it into place again.

Uberman try holding down the power button on the wii once it turns red, hold it for 15secs...30secs to be safe, it resets the wii remotes. So just sync them up again after you turn it on again....Hopefully it should work.

You should try resyncing the orphaned Wiimote(s). I don't mean going to WWii Remote Settings and clicking on Reconnect either. I mean pushing the red button on the Wii (next to the SD card slot) and pushing the red button in the Wii remote.
