French Wii Vs US TV PAL/NTSC

Hi,

I bought a Wii back in France and I want to bring it back to the US.

So PAL Wii and NTSC TV: Is it possible to make it work.

I am already aware of the power converter that i need to buy. But I have no clue for the rest.

Are the PAL to NTSC Video System Converter reliable? Or it's just crap?
My TV is HD can I plug an HDMI cable into the Wii?

Is there a solution?

Thanks for your reply.

Wii Online Code: 5537-0855-7535-2075

The Wii will output at 60Hz so you should be ok .. .. .. most modern screens should be felxible between the two TV standards.

Your bigger issue is games though as the Wii is region locked and you'll need to get your games from Europe .. ..or a freeloader to allow you to play US games on your European Wii.

Thanks a lot.

My V is brand new 1 month old, BUT in the case that my TV does not accept the Pal, what are my options?

You should be a lot more worried about the game regions issue than the Wii working with your TV.

Freeloader is a potential pain in the ass, and your system WILL NOT play U.S. native games.

In fact I am coming back and forth between france and the US so I m not really worried about the games. I already bought a lot of them in France, and i m gonna bought mario kart pretty soon on my next trip OH YEAH....
So my fear is really about the TV.

If you already have a TV in the US, you might want to check the manual to see if it supports PAL and how you can switch it to PAL. I personally haven't come across TVs older than 5 years supporting PAL.

You can either buy a new TV in the US, as most of them now support multiple color systems and their variations or buy a converter/cable to connect your wii to CRT/LCD computer monitor.
