I had to run by Target today and they had 6 - 8 Wii Fit's just sitting there as well as a 25 Yoga Mat. The mat is a ripoff but regular Yoga mats are high also.
Maybe that was just a fluke but I suspect the Wii Fit is going to be in stock more than people anticipated. Remember this is essentially a scale and exercise equipment which is something many gamers are not big into. When is the last time you saw treadmills that could not stay in stock?
Dean
PS: The Wii is more innovative than the treadmill but the fact is that it is exercise equipment!

Walmart got a crapload in. I walked in at 10:30 into a Walmart in Michigan today and grabbed one of 30 sitting on a cart that came out of the stock room.

I guess the ebay Wii resellers are upset because I checked on ebay last week and they were advertising these would be on back order for six months and you wouldnt be able to get them in stores.
I think places like Gamestop liked to put their spin on it that their would not be enough and you had to preorder to have a chance.
I personally did not preorder because I could not conceive exercise equipment not being able to kept in stock.
Anyways, it will be interesting to hear how many Nintendo sells which I am sure is a ton but I bet not as many as forecasted by many.

I'm sure you saw this on the other thread.
Wii Fit to battle GTA 4 to be top May seller

So far, Wii Fit is reported to have sold 650,000 copies on its first day, with an estimate of 1.2 million by the end of the first week.

1 in 10 U.S. Wii owners now have Wii Fit. Supply will be the only limitations on sales.

Anyone know of any games that will be out soon that actually use the balance board other than We Ski?

I think, IIRR, that Skate It would be a balance board game. Also talk in another thread about EA making a exercise game.
From Wikipedia (Not a real source though) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Balance_Board

I suspect the EA game will look real good on the packing and the press released will make it sound great. However, you will probably get a product that was rushed to the market with a outsourced team doing the developing as EA has done with the rest of the Wii titles.
I know Nintendo announced their were at leeast 10 games in development for use with the Wii Balance Board.

I agree with you as I dont care for Brawl at all but I had never played it before the Wii and it just isnt my type of game.
Wii Fit is overhyped but is a step in the right diection.
People hoped that Wii Fit would be the 2nd coming of Wii Sports. The games are just not as fun.
The balance board is a great addon ALONG AS BIG N FIXES THE BIG ISSUE. If Nintendo comes with a fimrware upgrade to allow multiple players to compete then the balance board moves from good to great.
However, even if Nintendo comes with a fix to add two balance boards at once, it may not help much as many games are supposedly in production that know only one balance board can be used at a time.
