480i Vs. 480p
Is there any website that shows me the direct difference between 480i and 480p, much like (or exactly like) this one: http://www.kibocollection.com/test/w...omparison.html
Any website that uses several shots like that one would be great.

There is no contest between interelaced and progressive scan. Progressive scan is better. I would take 720p over 1080i any day.

Seriously? My PS3 is on 1080i (that's the TV's max resolution).
I do have my wii on a standard TV though. I think if I put it on an HDTV it would look like crap, being that most HDTVs have high resolutions, and it would just look grainy and blurry because of the TV trying to scale it.

It does. To me, the perfect size for a Wii TV is a 36". Looks beautiful.

If you're after comparrisons check out the link below. It is quite obvious that 480p is far clearer and sharper than 480i... worth investing in a component cable.

Aslong as you have a good upscaler in your HDTV and it's not an older one or a cheep one the Wii and everything else for that matter should look fine without any graininess or distortions.
I have a 52 inch 1080p t.v. and with the upscaller a higherend game like SSBB looks as good as alot of PS3 games, obviously not as life like or witht he same effects but the picture quality itself is still great. If you do have an issue with your HDTV making SD,ED or even lower end HD signal look alright than it all has to do with the t.v. not the equipment you attach to it 90% of the time. There are ways to fix it but costly. You should always do your research before you decide to buy a newer technology to make sure its compatibal with current technology that you own.

I have not tried upscaling the Wii since several games wont even support widescreen or 480p. However, some of the games look clear and nice in 480p. It is night vs day seeing a Wii on an standard TV vs using component cables and seeing it in 480p.
I just have never found upscaling to look that good. I had a DVD player that would upscale standard DVDs to 720p or 1080p and it didnt look good at all. Are you saying the games you upscale from 480p to 1080p really look better?
