This seems crazy? I can't understand why Nintendo expects people to pay for 2 controllers when they only want one. To get an extra Wii controller for Mario Kart you either have to pay $70 for a WiiMote or, $70 for the WiiMote + $30 for the Classic Controller. Craziness, no?
Also I tried to correct information on a thread here but as the thread was greater than 500 days old I wasn't permitted to post. So now that misinformation continues to sit in webspace to misinform more people. Can someone higher up the foodchain please update that thread?

and the answer is-
The Classic Controller does not fit into the Gamecube. It has a plug that only fits into the Remote Controller - it's not possible to connect the Classic directly into the Wii.
