From my own experience and reading other threads I've come to realize that for whatever reason, some games (like SSBB and Mario Karts) are designed to not allow save data to be backed up to a SD card.

I am trying to find a way to prevent saved files on the Wii from being erased, so if they cannot be backed up to a SD card, can they be write protected on the Wii itself and then write enabled when the game is going to be played? or possibly password the erase function?
