Hmm, the IGN article discussing the use of butt control of the Balance Board for this game states, "To make things more interesting, up to four players (presumably each supplying their own Wii Fit boards) can get in on the bum-racing shenanigans."

I thought only one Balance Board could be used with a Wii at any given time...

VERY interesting -- there has been a lot of discussion how it does NOT seem more than 1 board could be hooked up -- hopefully game designers have figured out how to do it.

I had figured that they'd either 1. have you hook through the internet or 2. each person bring their own wii for a LAN party -- one balance board per wii

Hopefully this truly will allow more than 1 balance board per wii.

You cannot play four together at the same time. it would be impossible for 2 reasons..

#1. Only 1 BB can be attached to a Wii Console.. Read page 8 of your Wii Fit Balance Board manual.

#2. even if they fixed this you can only attach 4 devices at a time to the Wii.

It wold look like this...

Player #1 Wii Remote and Nunchuck (Device 1) and Wii BB (Device 2)

Player #2 Wii Remote and Nunchuck (Device 3) and Wii BB (Device 4)

Player #3.. Out of devices that can be connected to a Wii

Player #4.. Out of devices that can be connected to a Wii

So this is a Hardware limitation.

Yeah I knew the limitations from the manual, I just wonder why the gaffe in the article, unless there's some new trick, or they're referring to online...

I don't put much stock in their articles... take everything you read with a grain of salt.

I think it might be a gaffe in the Rayman Raving Rabbids article -- the latest Shaun White Snowboarding article says that although 4 people could play the game at a time on the wii -- only 1 can use the Balance Board.

We know that the balance board is always on port 4. We know this makes it impossible to use more than one balance board at once. We also know that the limitation is 4 bluetooth controllers per Wii.

However, does anyone know if these are hardware or software limiitations? It may be possible that a firmware would fix the problem of the balance board and allow 2. If the 4 controller limit is software then it may even be possible to have more than 4 remotes.

Anyone with a more detailed knowledge of the hardware know the answer?

There's an article in the latest Nintendo Power about this game where they talk to the developer. They confirm that there is only ONE balance board allowed at a time. However they did say that there will still be things for the other players to do during the minigames while the one player is using the board.
