Hey all,

I just picked up a wiifit (free with store credits). It's cool and all, however... I find that I like the wii because of the HUGE variety of input controls. Using the remote and nunchuck allows for infinate combos of button presses, movements, combination, etc...

Thee wiifit pretty much boils down to forward, backward, left and right. To me, the games get old very, very quick - lacking the ability to have expansive input/controls.

Nothing against wiifit at all, I just think that the lack of user input is why i find it boring... Anyone else see my train of thought here?

Even comparing wiifit games to Wii sports tennis - for example. Tennis has varying levels of swings, timing direction, etc, that come into play... So even at THAT basic level, it's more exciting than wiifit stuff.

I fear that future releases for wiifit will all be based around (obviously) forward, back, left, right movements, which takes be back to my first point...

Thanks,

Matt!

I see what you're talking about but before you bought it you should have researched what you were really purchasing. You can't just purchase a game because a major games store/site is telling you to. Hope you get the mot possible enjoyment out of it though.

Slayer...

I can return it to the store - no problem. Also, I knew what I was getting into - did plenty of research..... I just had to try it first hand.

Thanks,

Matt!

True. Well in that case there's not much more to say. If you think you and your friends can get a kick out of it then keep it, otherwise return it. It is not even that good IMO. Just a little gimmick for Nintendo. Wait for the Conduit or get some kick *** WiiWare titles.

Slayer,

Actually - I am gonna trade it back for Mario Strikers and Boom Blox... Both are quick, fun, and multiplayer... They can also be more involved in single-player mode as well..

And as far as parties - We have wii sports, wii play, and raving rabbids to take care of that (and strikers and boom now too....oh yea, and Defend/Castle)

Later,

Matt!

There are TONS of variations in the controls. It isn't a simple analog 4-way joystick. There are varying amounts of pressure used in many of the games and the whole thing is based on it. Balance is the core of the whole Wii Fit game utilizing the pressure sensors. (Watch the little video on the Nintendo Channel that says how it works.)

Coupling that with the nunchuk/remote combo, the amount of directions you can control are now HUGE. The game Wii Fit is a little simple. BUT the balance board is pretty advanced and has a lot of potential. Do with it what you will, its your hard earned store credit.
