around the CD input... they flash once when i turn the console on. if i recall correctly, they used to stay lit while the console is turned on. am i right? or is my memory just failing me that bad.

if you have an unread message and your wii is off, do the lights still stay on? my wii is off right now but the blue leds are on and pulsing kinda. like getting dimmer then brighter and so on.
