this question may have been asked -but- can you use say a set of logitech 5.1 speakers on it? or do u need to plug it into sommit else?

if it only has the audio output for 1 speaker?

then unless your 5.1 runs from 1 sound input then probably yes...

but if your 5.1 requires 3-5 inputs then probably not

(I'm just speculating as I wont know until the 8th)

but im just using common sense...

i dont think it plays in 5.1 but it could still use all 5 speakers... just outputting the same signal in each... "psuedo surround sound"

There is an option in the Wii settings for surround output. Then again it is only running off a stereo output cable. Mine was in surround when i played CoD 3 though..

Nintendo Wii supports Dolby Prologic II. This (with a proper reciever) will decode the Red/White RCA plugs into 5.1 surround sound. Granted you will need a Reciever that decodes ProLogic II, and the speakers to boot.

It works great!
