It will go on sale for £29.95 and can be charged using the supplied USB cable for convenience. It also boasts all features a Wii Remote would be expected to have: rumble, in-built speaker, and motion sensors.

Datel will debut their new Wiimote in two weeks.

w00t, square buttons!

A console is never successful without horrible 3rd party accessories.

I'm always skeptical about things like this. They could work great, but they could just be a waste of money. That grip doesn't look too great, but if it reviews alright then I might consider it.

£29.95? How much does a real Wiimote cost there?

I only have 2 Wiimotes and 2 Gamecube controllers at the moment so the only 4 player games we can play are SSBB, Mario Kart or Wii Sports Bowling (good job they are about the best 4 player games anyway). I'd buy a couple of 3rd party Wiimotes if they were cheap though.

I'm guessing the square buttons are to get around whatever patents Ninty has...

As always, 3rd party accessories for Nintendo consoles look (and probably perform) like crap.
The charging feature is pretty cool though.

I agree the included rechargeable battery via usb is a nice touch, but bottom line is it is made by Datel. I will be avoiding this more affordable WiiMote for that reason alone.

Yep. Very. Nunchucks are $30 for us I think.

The Wii itself is...$360 (£180)

Maybe no wire means there is also no wrist strap! Maybe the special grip really prevents the wiimote to fly in your screen! Ingenious!

You know it looks like crap, as with most 3rd party video game controllers. l might by it to have an extra remote though.

Very disappointing. I'd like to see somebody break with the "remote control" form factor and deliver an ergonomically designed wiimote. Just putting all the buttons in easy reach would be a good start, really.
