This is a very strange case becasue my wii remote works but it doesnt, i'll explain. the motion sensing works fine and all of the buttons work fine except when in game play. ex: wii sports tennis, you can't swing the racket or anything and in golf and all of the others its like it doesnt know it there, but in gameplay i can pause it and use the motion sensing to exit and stuff. so the motion sensing doesnt work only in gamelpay. help?

You're confused. The pointer is different to the motion sensing. What you're saying makes sense, as when you're in the menus, the wiimote uses the IR sensor to tell the Wii where it's pointing. When you're playing Wii Sports however, then you are using the motion sensor.

Anyway, it sounds like a busted controller. Take it back to the store or call Nintendo support.

You could try resetting the controller by pressing the two 'sync' buttons on the console. Dunno if it would work, but obviously, go to the manual for more on the subject.
