Nintendo has said the Wii cannot be used to play DVDs. It would need more than a software upgrade, The hardware that is out can't do it.

i dont have many dvd players... i have 3 tvs and 2 dvd players... so one on the wii (for me at least) would be preatty cool.

Nintendo Wii will have a HD DVD drive in japan only but maybe uk, usa might just get the dvd.

i heard the wii is already dvd capable but not ours,were basically one update away from havin a dvd playin wii!
