router and firewall question

This is a discussion on router and firewall question within the Nintendo Wii Online forums, part of the Nintendo Wii Forums category; I always have to turn of my firewall for my wii to acces my router,how can i make the firewall an exception to my router?...

That doesn't make sense.

Your Wii doesn't go through your computer to access your router. It wouldn't matter if your computer imploded, if the router still worked, then your Wii should be able to access the internet through your router regardless.

Best suggestion is to turn off the firewall on your router and only use software firewall. If I find the ports that the Router uses then I will PM them to you later.
