hey man
My buddies are trying to get the Wii online at a hotel. Extendedstay America. when i get my laptop online through the wireless, it connects, but i have to open a browser, and it redirects me to the hotels login page. the password is "djrd". THEN i can chat, play games and what-not. But getting the wii to do it is aggravating. The wii SEES the wireless for the hotel, but the internet test fails. when we open the browser on the Wii, it asks to setup a connection. I managed to get our PS3 online, but the wii is not being cooperative. Theres not alot on the web regarding this issue. I read a little about ICS through my laptop. I can get online wirelessly with laptop, then enable internet connection sharing through the ethernet and somehow the wii is supposed to get online, but i dont wanna leave my laptop in my buddies room. We also have the Sprint Mogul PDA smartphones that act as modems as well. (Its actually faster than the wireless at the hotel). Any info would be appreciated.

As far as I can tell, the modem doesn't have anything on the bottom. I'll see if I can take a pic of the modem later, maybe that'll help figure out what kind it is.
The name and key might be in the back, but i'll need to check again. It's in a hard to reach place and its kinda heavy, so I only lifted it up.

Is it a modem that stands up vertically or does it lay down horizontally?

no. you might need the lan adapter because your connection might not be strong enough.

It stand vertically, and here's two pics of it, side and front.
Sorry that they're kinda tough to see, without the flash you can't see it at all, even with the lights on.

no you don't need a computer and only the lan adapter can work by connecting it to your wii into your modem or router with an ethernet cable.
