Assuming you know what your modem is and you have a cable/dsl connection, the device with flashing lights attached to the modem would most likely be a router if it is in your house.

Hi I am new to this so hope I sound ok! I can not connect my Wii to my wireless connection which is a Belkin G MIMO F5d2930-4 ver 5000uk. I am with Virgin boradband
The router is recognised but when a connection test is done the error code 51330 appears. I have tried technical support from both Belkin and Nintendo. Belkin want an IP address which I can not find at all, they think it si something to do with my ports?
I have no idea what they mean as I am not great on IT jargon
any assistance gratefully received

Our experience has shown that this error message is typically caused by WEP Key issues. Please read the following information:
Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router.
Click here ( http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc...routerInfo.jsp) to go to our Wireless Router Configuration page.
Use the drop-down box on the left to select, if available, your router manufacturer.
Click on your router's model number, if available.
Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."
Are you using WEP security on your router?
Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (1-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters).
Verify they are using the WEP Key in the first (#1) slot. Even though their router may have multiple slots, the Nintendo DS is only compatible with the WEP Key in slot #1.
Check to see if your router is using MAC filtering.
Log into the router using the default IP.
Find the section for MAC Filtering (typically under "Security").
If MAC Filtering is on ("enabled"), enter the Nintendo DS?s MAC address to the list of approved MAC address. For info on locating the DS?s MAC address, click here. (For assistance with locating the MAC Filtering section of your router?s setup tool, please consult the router?s manual or contact the manufacturer.)
Check to see if your router is set to "g only" mode. In order to work with the Nintendo DS, the router must be set to "mixed" or "b and g".

I emboldened the things that are the likely cause, I am unsure if you tried all of it so just reiterating. Other than that I can not think of anything special besides port-forwarding your Wii and/or using wireless channel 1 or 11. Here is the info needed:
TCP:
Allow traffic to all destinations on ports: 28910, 29900, 29901, 29920, 80, and 443
Hope it helps!

If you have a connection sharing issue then you need to allow the connection on your computer. Here is the info from Nintendo:

Firewall/Antivirus/Antispyware/Adware Compatibility Info
Whether you're using the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, the Wii LAN Adapter, or a wireless router, firewalls and other computer security programs can be very tricky to get working when attempting to do online gaming. Anti-virus, anti-spyware, software firewalls, and firewall-enabled routers can affect communications within your network. You may want to consider temporarily disabling, or removing, these products installed on home networks to enable game play. If this is not the approach you wish to take, below are some guidelines for how your firewall or security program needs to be adjusted. As each manufacturer is different, if you need help making these adjustment, please contact your firewall or security program manufacturer.
The following detailed information regarding required protocols, ports and communication requirements needed by the Wii console, games, and the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector (if used) may be helpful. Please consult your firewall's instruction manual or manufacturer for specific assistance on working with the firewall.
Allowing TCP and UDP Traffic:
The Wii console may require unrestricted access to several sites across various ports and protocols to function correctly. These addresses and ports vary, and may change in the future without notice. Many software firewalls restrict outbound access. Only if your firewall blocks outbound traffic do you need to enable this traffic:
...TCP:
Allow traffic to all destinations on ports: 28910, 29900, 29901, 29920, 80, and 443
UDP:
Allow all traffic to all destinations. (Necessary for peer-to-peer connections and game play). Our Network Test tool can be used from a computer behind your firewall to test if outbound UDP is allowed.
...Additional Information for the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector Users
If you are using the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, and have a software firewall or other computer security program installed on your computer, there may be additional steps you must complete to allow a successful connection.
"Trusted" Applications:
If your firewall or PC security program keeps a list of trusted applications (also known as a "trusted zone"), the following programs are installed with the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, and require internet communications. If prompted by your firewall or PC security program, add these to the list of trusted applications. This information may also apply to certain computer security applications, such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc.:
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector USB (NintendoWFCReg.exe )
Setup.exe (when installing the USB Connector)
SoftAPInstDrv.bin
mdriver.exe
"Trusted" IP Ranges:
There are also potential ranges of IP addresses that may need to be added to the "trusted zone" for your software firewall or PC security program for Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector users. Each of these would need to be opened up for TCP and UDP traffic, or for some firewalls or security programs, added as a "trusted zone." Please consult the manual for your firewall or security program for more specific information.
192.168.1.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0
172.16.1.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0
0.0.0.0 subnet mask 255.255.255.255
Software Firewalls Identified as Being "Incompatible" with the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector
We have identified the following software firewall(s) as being incompatible with the use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. We suggest using another firewall product, if possible:
Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite
Important Note: In order to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, Zone Alarm Internet Security Suit must be completely uninstalled from your computer. Simply disabling (turning off) this program will still not allow a successful connection.
Turn off any "VPN" programs running on the computer
Virtual Private Network (VPN) programs can interfere with the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, and must be turned "off" or "disabled." VPN's are typically found on computers belonging to those who need to create a secure connection to an outside network (for example, people who work from home).
|
You must allow them in each security program you use. Good luck!

How to get the Wii online or how to go online in GH3? Incase it is the Wii:
From the main Wii screen click the bottomleft Wii icon
click Wii settings
click right twice
click internet
click connection settings
click new connection
search for access point
click through the screens to set up your connection.
If it is how to get GH3 online I have no idea however since I do not own the game.

I have a question fo rall of you out there. If this has already been posted, Im sorry now befor eI get flamed!
The problem I am having is this: Whenever I turn the WII ON, all of the wireless connections in my house disappear. If you use a computer to find the available wireless networks only default shows (Which i believe is the Wii). Everything else is gone. When i turn the Wii OFF< All the available networks come back.
Equipment used:
1701HG Gateway by 2WIRE - Wireless G
AR430W by Airlink101 - Wireless G
Both are on 2.4Ghz
This is what I had done so far:
1. I have changed the channels in my Router (all channels selected)
2. Removed any wireless phones
3. Manually added my router to the wii - Wii Cannot see wireless network
After doing this I added a second router to my existing router as a access point (AIRLINK101 AR430W) After doing this, I was able to see this router and connect to the internet using my laptop while the Wii was on. So this part of it makes me feel Im closer. But, the problem is still here:
1. The Wii Cant see either wirleess network only one listed as "DEFAULT" which I believe is the Wii its self.
2. Other laptops can now see the new router and get online when the Wii is on, but the original wireless network is still missing.
I noticed while changing channels on the routers, that they are running in the 2.4Ghz spectrum. Could this be the problem. Is the wii Run on 2.4Ghz as well causing some type of interference? I looked online at a few sites and found that the 2WIRE & The Airlink101 routers should work fine.
So with all of this said, what do you think may be the problem? I know there must be something I just didint read on hear yet. There has tobe a lot of poepl out there that have had that problem too!!
Thanks for any help you can assist me with!!

This is a very random issue you are having. Nothing should make the networks not show when connected with the Wii... I would look at your router to be sure it is fine. I wish I had some other idea on this one but there is nothing that the router and Wii agree upon that should turn off/hide the other networks.

No you cannot. Games that are online accessible have the blue wifi symbol on the case.
